About the Tara Ploeger Memorial Scholarship

Each year two Sabetha High School seniors are awarded a $1,000 scholarship, one attending college and one attending vocational school.  

 

The applicants are asked to share the following information:  

• Employment(s) and volunteer experience(s) during the high school years.

• How they have left a positive impact on Sabetha High School and Northeast Kansas.

• How they plan to impact others through their higher education.

 

Two applicants who exemplify Tara’s values are selected by the Ploeger family as scholarship recipients. If the family chooses to no longer perform this role, a committee will be appointed by the USD#113 Foundation board to review the applications.

 

The following information about Tara is shared with the applicants: While attending Sabetha High School, Tara Lee Ploeger volunteered in the towns of Morrill and Sabetha. Working at Country Mart, the Sabetha Hospital, and a local daycare, Tara was known for her smile and bubbly personality. With plans to be a teacher, she volunteered at the elementary school with first graders. It was through loving and caring for people that Tara left an incredible impact on all who knew her.
